As you may have heard a devastating storm hit the island of Madeira on the 20th of February 2010. Heavy rains and strong winds battered the island in the early morning. Starting on July 30th and ending August 1st Madeirans can watch their favorite drivers tear up the streets once again. The streets of Funchal and Madeira in general make for some fun driving for those who can appreciate narrow roads, hairpin turns, and spectacular views. Even for seasoned rally drivers Madeira roads are a challenge and they have surely claimed their fair share of cars.

The Partido Social Democrata's party at Chão da Lagoa is easily the largest in Madeira. Madeira based team Maritimo was beat Sunday by FC Porto in the 27th match in the Sagres League.
